Do you love singing Christmas carols? This year we have something special for you. Many of us will not be able to get to a church carol service this year and so we are bringing the carol service to you via our online virtual carol service – Carols for Christian Aid.
We invite you to join with us online for a service of lessons and carols, on Sunday 13th December, at 8pm, based on the traditional ‘service of nine lessons and carols’, but with a global twist.
We are bringing together singers and performers from across the island of Ireland alongside Christian Aid staff and partners from around the world to present a unique Christmas experience ‘Carols with Christian Aid.’
The service will premiere on Christian Aid Ireland’s YouTube channel at 8pm on Sunday 13th December and features a whole host of talented musicians performing many of the most well-known and well-loved Christmas carols.
Leah McFall who is best known as the runner up on The Voice 2013 who toured with coach will.I.am and Jesse J before releasing her own independent records INK and White X. She has since toured her independently run 5 UK City sell-out shows and is now back in the studio working on her new record.
Nathan Jess who is a Northern Ireland-based songwriter and worship leader who has written with Matt Redman and Chris McClarney and toured alongside artists such as Rend Collective, Phil Wickham and Martin Smith.
Victoria Johnston who is a chart-topping and Grammy shortlisted singer-songwriter and award-winning composer. She began her classical music training at the Royal Irish Academy of Music at the age of 9. Victoria’s debut singles ‘Tar Liom’ and ‘You are the Peace’ have both been shortlisted in the upcoming 63rd Grammy Awards for Song of the Year, with ‘You are the Peace’ also shortlisted for Christian Contemporary Music Song of the Year.
Marion Jordan who is an award-winning classically trained mezzo-soprano. With many years’ experience in concert, sacred and musical theatre work, she is an accomplished and highly regarded soloist regularly performing within Northern Ireland and further afield.
And many more...
Alongside carols, the Christmas story will be told through a series of bible readings and prayers spoken by Christian Aid supporters, staff and partners from around the world.
